Hi to all,
just a short reminder that the website is being used for communications – so check there regularly – remember you are welcome to post up a page under members, and you are welcome to advertise your events on the site. It is the member’s site, so please do use it!

I know you are not all on Facebook, but there is a group there called The Okanagan Artists Group, where all members are welcome to update artists and interested people on the general goings-on of the arts. All are welcome to join and post. The latest has to do with the Okanagan Arts Awards is coming up on Feb 23 -

All visual artists are welcome to send in two images of their work (images of work only), 2000 px longest side, to info@artsco.ca. These two pieces will be presented at the Okanagan Arts Awards on the 23rd. As a thank you to the artists who are presenting, you will receive a ticket to the event! Other performers are being paid for their participation, and now the artists are too!! I am so excited and pleased about this development. If you have already sent in your work, then that is great!! If you have not, then take the opportunity to do this now…. make sure they are clear, not blurry and just of the work itself.

The Call is now open to Designers – jewelry makers, and other functional art pieces such as pottery, furniture etc. So send in your images!

I have written a blog post on this subject if you need more info – http://www.juliatrops.com.

Please do not delay in sending your images, there was a cutoff date of Dec 9 which was extended to Dec 15…. but either we are not reaching the artists …. not sure, but it’s been a trial to get even 50 artists – anyway, long story. Send your images in okay, get it done. :-)

I am posting this up on the website – so if you have questions, please post them here.

Talk to you soon, Julia
