Art Exchange in RCA Hallway

The next exchange of art in the RCA hallway will be on Saturday March 3rd from 8:45 to 9:30. Let me know if you can't make it at that time but still plan on exchanging your present pieces. If anyone is currently out of town we will leave your pieces up until the next exchange. FCA Classic Painting Competition-2012
The FCA Classic is an online painting competition with over $2500 in cash and prizes. It is designed to provide an affordable, nationally accessible venue to both exhibit fine art and to award excellence. There are no size restrictions, no entry limitations, no shipping or framing costs and no membership requirements.

The FCA Classic is produced by the Central Okanagan Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists and sponsored by: Classic Gallery Framing, Swinton's Art Supply & Instruction, Westshore Artist Panels and Canadian Brushstroke Magazine.

Each entry is $10 and you can enter as many paintings as you like. The earlier you enter the more exposure you will have as we will show entries online until the contest closes. Please make sure you have read the entry rules first.

Cost:CAN$10.00 per item
Submission Dates:Accepting Submissions until: Mar 31 2012 11:59 pm PDT

Changing art in the hallway at RCA

Hi Everyone

Christine has stepped down as the manager of the art in the hallway at the RCA. Thank you Christine for the work you've done in getting us on track so that art work is changed on a regular basis.

I have now taken over that position from Christine so if you have any questions please direct them to me in the future. Due to weather and a whole variety of reasons many people were not able to come to the picture exchange last Wednesday evening so if you want to exchange your pictures during the next few weeks you may do so at your convenience. Please email me so that I know you've done it but if you can't don't worry for this time it will stay on the wall until the next exchange. Once I get back I will set up a schedule and it will always happen on a Saturday morning before the drawing session.

Art hall switch

Hi everyone. There seems to be some people who can't make it tonight for personal reasons and also because it's crazy winter out there today and it may not let up soon. So as I have stated in past emails is that you don't HAVE to come on the exact time and date specified. This is just for your convienience. You may want to come one day before or within the week of the switch but just send me an email or leave a voicemail or tell another member. It's always nice to try to get everyone there on the same time to switch out but we all are busy people and sometimes mother nature may not lend a helping hand. After this evening I will no longer be organizing the art hall switch over so pls send your emails and phone calls to Livessence if you have a question about the switch over. If I don't answer my phone pls just leave a message once. There is no need to call my number several times over. I work full time and I may not be readly available to return your call or answer. Thanks again and safe travels tonight…

Art Hall Switch

It seems it is that time again to switch out the artwork at the RCA on Weds January the 18th from 515pm to 6pm.

Grid Rental from Livessence

Livessence has forty grids available for rent throughout the year. It is best if you know you have a show coming up and you will need grids, to book them right away. It is likely others have shows too, and as we all know, the person who is prepared is the one who gets the goodies. Here is the information for renting Livessence grids:

Fees

Livessence members – $1 for per grid per day – $120 per month for 40 grids, $60 per month for 20 grids etc
Non-members – $10 for 3 grids per day, $120 per month for 20 grids

Details

40 black grids available
Cash upfront
If you are planning to rent the grids you need to let the grid master know 2 weeks in advance as she must make sure she can access the basement on that day.
Pick-up and return of grids will take place Saturday, Sunday or Monday afternoons.
Renters responsible to pick-up & drop-off
Sign-out procedure: renters agree to sign they will take care of the grids and return them in good order and with no damages
