Calling ALL Figurative Artists for a Holiday Art Show!! 

Yes, the holidays are just around the corner and Livessence is planning to be apart of the Artisans of the Okanagan Holiday Art Exhibition and Sale being held at the RCA. But before that weekend (Nov 13-15th, 2009), we are privileged to be able to show our work in the RCA Galleria for an extra couple of weeks starting Oct 26th. That means our work will also be hanging during the RCA big event of Homes for the Holiday's. 

To tap into this fantastic opportunity of exposure, you will need to act ASAP as the deadline is almost upon us. As a member to Livessence, we have decided to wave the submission fee as our holiday gift to you! This is show's theme is Livessence UNLIMITED meaning there will be no size restrictions and any 2D or 3D media. We are also opening this opportunity to non-members, so please spread the word. 

The Livessence Unlimited Holiday Art Show Dates: Oct 26 - Nov 15, 2009

Location: Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna, BC

How to Submit: Fill out the submission form (you should be able to fill it out on your PC) and email to livessence.society at gmail dot com! Any hard copy submissions can be left at Julia's studio at the RCA. 

Submission Deadline: Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Submission Fee: FREE for members. Non-members pay $10 per piece.

Number of Works: unlimited 

Submission Requirements: 

1. Must be figurative work. (The Livessence Hanging Committee reserves the right to refuse pieces for hanging by way of monitoring a high quality art show presentation. ) Any artwork displayed at Artwalk will be accepted. 

2. In order to exhibit in the RCA Galleria, the RCA requires every individual to have an annual KVPACS member at a cost of $10. Visit http://www.rotarycentreforthearts.com/support_us/membership.html  for details or purchase your membership from the information desk at the RCA.    

3. Artwork must be signed-in and signed-out by the Livessence Registrar. If pieces are not signed-in or signed-out, Livessence will not be liable for lost or damaged artwork. 

Commission: We are requesting a 15% commission on any sales during the show.

Gallery Host: Volunteers needed as Gallery Host for 2-hr blocks during the Artisans of the Okanagan Holiday Art Exhibit and Sale weekend of Nov 13-15th. Those exhibiting their work for this show are strongly encouraged to sign up as Gallery Hosts. (Even if you would rather not submit a piece, as a member, please consider volunteering at the Livessence booth to be one of our Gallery Hosts.)

Display Requirements: 

1. Artwork must be suitable for hanging with proper hanging wires in place.
2. Artwork must be framed or painted edges of canvases. 
3. Must be labeled on the back of the artwork (title, artist). Unlabeled artwork will not be accepted. 
4. Pedestals required for any 3D artwork.

Timeline:
    Oct 13 - Submission deadline 
    Oct 20 - Labels printed & Gallery host schedule confirmed 
    Oct 25 - Sunday 10-12am - Extra drop-off date at Julia's RCA studio 
    Oct 26 - Monday 9:30-11:30am - Drop-off artwork, set-up grids, hang show
    Nov 13 - Friday 5:00-9:00pm - Gallery Host - 2 hour blocks
    Nov 14 - Saturday 10:00am-8:00pm - Gallery Host - 2 hour blocks
    Nov 15 - Sunday 10:00am-4:30pm - Gallery Host - 2 hour blocks
    Nov 15 - Sunday 4:30pm - Pick up artwork

Volunteers Needed:

1. Gallery Hosts for Nov 13-15th
2. Grid Set-up & take down
3. Bio Book - Our Livessence biography book needs some TLC. Biographies need to be gathered and presented nicely in a binder.
