By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hi to all, the Livessence webpage has been updated. If you would like to have your own member artist page on the site, please send three images and a biography back, and I will make it so. Those who have submitted pics for artwalk will have pages already with three images – I just need the biography. The website is a blog, so you are welcome to write an article and send to this address as an email and it will get posted up. Yes, you can include pics with your blog entry. Any questions, please send me a note back! You are free to create a user id and interact on the site as well. All the best, Julia

Livessence Experiential Anatomy Workshop

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Hi Everyone We have planned a new and exciting workshop for this fall. As artists who have more than a passing interest in life drawing and painting anything that will help us to hone our skills is a plus. However, it’s one thing to simply observe the model and record what we see and something completely different to be able engage with the model so that we have a felt sense of his/her patterns of holding, moving, breathing and balancing. We might also ask ourselves, what impact our own body awareness will have on our ability to transfer what we see in the model to our mark making? As a functional movement specialist (that’s my day job) I have the opportunity to observe people and how they move on a daily basis and I’m also down on the floor myself learning to sense my own body and how it moves and feels. This has had a tremendous impact on my ability to connect with the model as I draw. It’s been my dream to share what I’ve learned about experiential anatomy with my fellow artists and it’s finally going to happen this fall. I have included an information sheet about the workshop and the registration form. The closing date for registration is August 15th and registration is limited to 13 so if you intend to take the workshop please register early. We are also holding two additional places for models that would like to take the workshop as part of their training. If you have any questions please contact me at sbradshaw@telus.net Cheers, Sandra pdf icon NEW-Experiential-Anatomy-Workshop-Registration-Form.PDF

Hi to all, thank you for your messages all of you. I have confirmed the people coming to the session on Feb 1, and they are listed below. Sam Windsor 10:30-13:30 Rebekah Wilkinson – whole session Sharon Rose – whole session Anthony Ross – whole session Joyce Dalton – whole session Joan Bolen – whole session If for any reason those listed can not come, please send me a note ASAP. Thank you everyone. It will be a fun but intense session. Because these are new models, I am asking that you re-read the member conduct (under the membership tab) and the model conduct (under the model tab) on the webpage, http://www.livessence.com. We’ll start them out right. On second thought, even if you aren’t attending the session next week on Feb 1, you should read the member code of conduct and the model code of conduct! If you have any questions, please do forward back. All the best, Julia Hi to all, just a short note to let you know I will be conducting Model Training on Saturday Feb 1 from 930 to 1330 hrs. I will be finishing training four models. Each model will be in the studio for about an hour. I am hoping for a max of five artists to come for the entire duration, or part of, to help finalize the training. Your task will be to draw, and potentially to give feedback during the five to ten minute discussion time at the end of the model’s hour. Model poses will be mostly short, from gestures to a max of five minutes. This will be a closed session. If you are interested please do reply with the times you would be interested. You can come for one hour, two, three or all four hours. The first five members to respond will be given priority. Thank you, Julia
